X-TEL begins integrating support for GPRS with interfaces for the Motorola Timeport GSM/GPRS test mobile

LOMBARD, IL. – October 10, 2001 – X-TEL Communications, Inc., the leading provider of engineering test systems and services for the wireless industry, today announced it has added GPRS testing capabilities to its suite of technology testing by adding the interface for the Motorola Timeport. X-TEL is able to simultaneously collect data across technologies, including AMPS, TDMA, CDMA, GSM, iDEN and now GPRS.

Major wireless operators have deployed GSM/GPRS infrastructure or are considering that path towards 3G.
