X-TEL begins integrating
support for GPRS with interfaces for the Motorola Timeport GSM/GPRS
test mobile
LOMBARD, IL.
– October 10, 2001 – X-TEL Communications,
Inc., the leading provider of engineering test systems and services
for the wireless industry, today announced it has added GPRS testing
capabilities to its suite of technology testing by adding the
interface for the Motorola Timeport. X-TEL is able to simultaneously
collect data across technologies, including AMPS, TDMA, CDMA,
GSM, iDEN and now GPRS.
"We continue to build off the success of our scaleable test
platform and the flexibility it affords our customers ,"
said James Rahfaldt, vice president, X-TEL Communications. "Our
Host Controller Unit supports up to 12 devices during one data
collection run. This is a simple upgrade for those customers that
wish to add GSM/GPRS testing capabilities to their system.”
Major wireless operators have deployed GSM/GPRS infrastructure
or are considering that path towards 3G. X-TEL’s collection
and analysis platforms allow wireless companies to simply add
an interface card for the technology of choice into their existing
X-TEL Host Controller Unit. “This is one of the most flexible
collection devices on the market,” said Rahfaldt.
