X-TEL Releases XQi - PESQ: International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Standard for Speech Quality Testing

X-TEL's XQi uses advanced ITU measurement Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ). X-TEL tests the voice quality on both the uplink and downlink from a single test mobile or across a number of test mobiles. XQi is available for all major technologies, including GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, iDEN and AMPS.

Download X-TEL's XQi Brochure or contact X-TEL for more information.

WCDMA Upgrade for X-TEL Systems

X-TEL's GSM/WCDMA systems provide real-time problem identification and post collection analysis utilities to assist engineers in troubleshooting and fixing network issues. X-TEL tools are designed to alert the engineer immediately when a problem occurs and then to provide the capability to quickly identify the underlying cause. Most problems can be identified and corrected while the engineer is still in the field. This reduces the impact for wireless customers and improves overall business for the operator.

X-TEL Adds Nokia's Latest GSM/GPRS/EDGE Test Mobile - Nokia 6230

X-TEL was one of the first drive test vendors to interface to the only commercially available EDGE test mobiles, the popular Nokia 6200/6220 phones. The X-TEL system began shipping in 2003 and is deployed throughout the United States and in Europe. Improved performance of the Nokia 6230 includes:

  • This is Nokia's latest and most popular GSM/GPRS/EDGE test mobile, offering an enhanced USB interface which improves interface performance and reduces computer processor requirements.
  • The Nokia 6230 EDGE multi-slot class 10 test mobile supports faster data transfer over five time slots. A maximum of four downlink and one uplink timeslot, or three downlink and two uplink timeslots is possible with the 6230 (4+1 or 3+2).
  • Improved connectivity through the USB interface exists using the new and improved Nokia DKU-2 interface versus the older Nokia DKU-5 interface employed in the older Nokia 6200 test mobiles.
  • The Nokia 6230 contains no lead solder, and therefore is more environmentally friendly. All future Nokia products will use non-lead based solder and all phones with lead based solder will be discontinued in 2004.
  • Fully compatible with X-TEL's advanced data testing features, including the Data Session Generator and EDGE specific displays.
