| The GSM/GPRS HCU is a member of X-TEL's Host Controller Platform. It is an evolutionary system, enabling customers to upgrade or adapt to different technologies such as UMTS/3G or alternate technologies like TDMA, CDMA, iDEN, etc. The GSM/GPRS has full capabilities for post-processing functions using a built-in playback mode as well as the advanced X-TEL Utilities integrated within MapInfo. X-TEL Utilities include automatic post-processing routines with cellsite database integration, data merging and reduction based on time and distance. The GSM BSIC Scanner allows for fast scanning measurements of signal levels with BSIC decoding capabilities. Additional spectrum scanner options are also available, providing for a second level of spectrum analysis without sacrificing scan speed necessary for BSIC detection. Customers can configure the scanner devices depending on their specific requirements. The moving map interface is observed in real-time and playback modes. It displays vehicle position, active serving base station, neighboring sites, and colored attributes depicting parameters, such as: hand-offs, dropped calls, RXLEV levels, RXQUAL and many more. The advanced capabilities of the real-time display with integrated mapping aids in rapid identification of missing neighbor sites, serving sectors with poor RXQUAL and RXLEV, and other performance related issues. |

Real-time displays unique to the GSM/GPRS HCU include the GSM/GPRS Phone Status Window, the BSIC Scanner, additional GPRS layer messages and continued support for in-building collection and mapping. The GSM/GPRS Phone Status Window consolidates all the important GSM/GPRS parameters for determining system performance, including, information related to the band, block and channel quality.
