Can I detect pilot pollution using only my UMTS phone interface? How?
Yes you can. We have pilot pollution algorithms based on the phone data. Those algorithms use the EC/IO and RSCP values reported by the phone and compare them with configurable parameters to determine whether there is pilot pollution or not. This information is available on the “WCDMA Pilot Pollution – Phone” Screen
If I use my scanner, will that tell me pilot pollution as well? How?
Yes. We have pilot pollution algorithms based on the scanner
data. The scanner must be configured on the same channel number
as the phone so we can use the measurements to detect pilot pollution.
There is pilot pollution when the difference between the 5th and
6th strongest scrambling code of the scanner is within a configurable
threshold. This information is available on the “WCDMA Pilot
Pollution – Scanner” Screen

Yes there is --depending on what display screen you have open. For example, if you open the GSM Phone Status Screen you can toggle RX Lev to RSSI by clicking on the field with your mouse pointer. Try experimenting with this and see if it helps.

There are two options. First, you can use the Merge utility located under the File menu in the X-TEL data collection software. Or you may simply append to files when you start new collection runs. You will see an “Existing Tests” window when you execute the “Start Test” command. Simply choose the test you want to append to and start collection.

Once you have installed all the manufacturer's drivers, go to "Options -> USB Interface" in the main menu screen and select the device you just added, you must specify it's corresponding serial port. To find what port the device is using, go to "Start->Settings->Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager", in the Device Manager screen you will Ports, open the Ports seccion and check what port your phone is using(usually shows a Motorola Netmon device).

Yes, you can. When you playback the collected GPRS data, any FTP
data collected during that test will automatically be played back
to the screen. You can always watch the FTP session progress opening
the FTP Status Screen in "Windows -> FTP Data Speed Measurement
-> FTP Data Speed Measurement" option in the main menu,
in both collect and playback mode.
How do I view the new AMR Codec parameters?
Go to "Windows -> GSM -> AMR Codec Display", this screen provides information for both uplink and downlink of the last 10 AMR frames.

To configure the calls go to
"Phone->Call Processing" and program the phone numbers,
cicles and call duration for each one of the 5 phones. Then setup
a regular connection using the GPRS in the Windows Network Connection
screen (in XP you may open this screen by selecting "Start->Settings->Network
Connections").

doing data collection are:
Intel PIII 500 or equivalent.

Intel PIII 1Ghz or equivalent
512MB of RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
5GB+ of free hard disk space.
